Charity Swipe – Designing a Platform for Social Good

Project Overview

The Charity Swipe App aimed to connect the younger, tech-savvy users with charitable organizations. Our interface was inspired by the ease of search on popular dating apps.

Project Planning

The project was a collaborative effort over five months. We used tools such as Miro and Figma, and research methods such as a wonder table and mind map to understand climate injustice.

Key Features

The apps’ main features mimic the ones seen in popular dating apps, such as saving preferences, filtering options, selecting whether or not to save the organization, and mechanisms to volunteer or donate.

Challenges

A major challenge was to adapt the interaction model of the dating apps to the context of charity, ensuring an engaging and ethical user experience. As well as working completely remote on a group project.

Final Design

Our final design delivered a user-friendly journey through various app pages: explore page, search page, list of organizations, organization profile, user profile, each designed to facilitate engagement and ease of use.
